Word Play.

I'm taking panels from old comic books and redrawing them with my characters in place. I'm doing this to study different types of poses and layouts. I inked and colored this using the open source painting program MyPaint with my Wacom Bamboo tablet. I kept the coloring a little messy by using a large brush and let it go outside the lines to give it the effect of an old comic 4 color print. View the finished picture with the background . I have no idea.. I was just drawing and that's what I put in his hand, much like the reaction of the fox in this drawing, I don't know why.

Might have a possible antagonist for the story line. I came up with this while I was trying out some color inking in GIMP. I was thinking he might be more like an annoying gross little guy, as you can see.

I'm a sucker for old comics like this. I actually had to stop using eBay because I would buy up all the old Dell Comics series. There is just something about the look and feel of these that really inspire me to create my own comics.
